The college is situated in lush green campus of JSPM at tathawade on Mumbai pune bypass highway near wakad police chowky and in the educational belt of pimpri-chinchwad.

The college started its progressive path under the Savitribai Phule Pune University approved Principal Dr.K.R.Khandelwal, who is in pharmacy profession since 1983. The college has got all necessary approvals from AICTE New Delhi, Govt. of Maharashtra, DTE- Mumbai and Savitribai Phule Pune University. JSPM’s Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy & Research, Tathawade, Pune, one of the premiere college imparting pharmacy education, has started post graduate course, M.Pharm Pharmaceutics, since academic year 2011-12 with sanctioned intake of 18 (increased to 24 from Academic Year 2012-13) and got the permission from AICTE, New Delhi to start M. Pharm in Quality Assurance Techniques from the academic year 2012-13 with sanctioned intake of 24. Both the courses are recognized by Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education, and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.
